I know not Dispatch but maybe helpful for someone that doesn't have a Dispatch job yet and with how saturated the hiring market is right now and just tryna get experience inside an Operations Center and get your feet wet this may help. Plus maybe a chance going internally for Dispatch with the right amount of studying and time at the company.

When I was in the IOC crew sked had a really high turnover. So much so that crew sked managers would write people up for frivolous things which would hinder them trying to switch departments or go on to dispatch. Yes....people are that horrible.

This is true. Don't do it. Horrible job, catty also. Very hard to transfer out of and the work itself is awful and will relate in no way at all to what you learn in dispatch school, apples to oranges, nothing transferable. Also witnessed this. They don't want people coming in to do the minimal time and transfer... they want for-lifers. Career dead end.

They want “for-lifers” that also happen to be immediately expendable and have no union protection.
