Hi all,
I flew on Express Jet from EWR to GSP today. My flight was at 8:30 AM, but apparently the crew couldn't make it. A reserve crew was called at 8:55, and we sat, boarded, waiting for the captain to arrive until approximately 9:30. Counting flight computer programming time and a long wait in line to take off, we were just a little over an hour and a half delayed.
In the great scheme of things it was no big deal, but frustrating nonetheless. The captain was the nicest guy though. I felt bad for him when he told is story of getting the call right in the middle of breakfast, knowing that he was late no matter what he did. (Not only late, but 1/2 hour late getting the call in the first place.) That would suck on a saturday to get a call like that! (Ummmm...yeah.....we're gonna need you to go ahead and... come in on Saturday mmmmm-kay????") (Office Space)
I feel much better now though, by the pool havin' a beer!
