(2nd paragraph, 2nd sentence.)
$337,000? Total compensation, maybe; but even that seems a bit high.

Darn overpaid pilots!!

Ha! After the pay whacking they took after 9/11, don't think for a minute it's even close to that!

(Thank you sir, may I have another!)

You havn't been misinformed, Joe, everyone else is simply wrong. Go back to your fantasy land and as long as you sign me over your soul, I'll give you the training you need to make $500,000 a year and work once a month.

Where ya been man?

According to this site (which is very accurate)... The most senior American Airlines 777 Captain is making $148,224 per year if he is paid strictly his monthly minimum... More realistically he is probably making closer to $185,000 with extra hours, duty rigs, etc...

Now currently at AA it takes about 15-16 years of seniority to hold a reserve 757/767 Captain position at ORD. Getting paid the monthly guarantee (64 hours) yields $125,952, more realistically would be $157,400... A senior 777 Capt. probably has been with the company better than 22 years...

So wait a second.. let me get this straight... I am trying to leave a low paying banking job... to get into an even lower paying education job.... so I can spend summers training to be a glossy glass cockpit flying jet pilot who get's to retire at 60 and move into my million dollar beach house and drive fast cars... and now ya just trying to tell me the life ain't what is seen in those flashy ad's, movies, and newspaper articles ??

[ End Sarcasm]

Lol... That's just super !!!!
