A seagull attacks a C-130

Camera-phone pictures of a C-130 that struck a seagull at 3,000ft while flying a mission here in Oklahoma. I didn't think a seagull could do that kind of damage to a military plane... Yes, they are using duct-tape to cover the hole in the second picture. But, they didn't fly it back home, it's still sitting here for now.

There are seagulls in OK???

Cool pic....

Might sound crazy...I was an instructor in northeast oklahoma and I would see huge flocks of seagulls flying from Lake Hulah, Lake Copan and Lake Oologah north of Tulsa. The buzzards are easier to pick out, called them b-17 buzzards!

My first thought was, "What in the hell did Shem do this time?!" :)

You guys know why Oklahoma is so windy don't you?

Because Kansas sucks and Texas blows! :D

haha...idk about that this week...it's windy here in kansas..had 59 knot gusts at the airport here in Salina yesterday...so Nebraska must be sucking, and Oklahoma is blowing!!

Was the seagull OK?

No, it was definitely off in the head. Suicidal if you ask me. Unfortunately all they found inside the plane was the head and breast part. The Commander at the base wanted them to bring it back too, so they did... LOL. :bandit:

We had a birdstike here at DVT on one of our Archers last night. I forgot we had birds here in PHX. Forgot we had weather, too. That wind the other night really threw me off - felt like I was back in Blacksburg, sans bitter cold.
