A&P Jobs

Is the A&P job market (esp. general aviation) just as lousy as the rest of the aviation job market right now? I am CFI-ing right now, but I got my A&P back in May and have held a couple of mechanic assistant jobs during school. I really enjoyed a lot of the time that I spent doing maintenance, and keep tossing around the idea of going back to it. What are typical entry-level jobs for new A&Ps?

I don't think it is quite as bad as pilots, but it is definitely is not easy.
