Decided to bring a digital camera to work today. For some reason I was only able to get half of the images off the memory card. Anyway this link will start a slideshow of about two dozen images from my flights today.

Nice...I can't believe I actually gave "scenic" flights in Ohio for most of last summer. Not very scenic compared to Maine. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
 
Great pix. I had many opportunities to fly up and down that rocky coast. It doesn't get much better than Maine in the summer.

I flew to Galveston (Gulf Coast of Texas) this weekend for a XC and was not impressed at all. The water was brown and about as warm as bath water... which wasn't very refreshing since it was just shy of 100 degrees out! I miss the cool blue ocean and the mountains of Maine. Too flat here...

Many of the pictures you took look familiar... we took similiar pics from the air on our first trip to Acadia in '99. We took the lighthouse aerial tour. Loved it! It was my first trip in a small plane and I hadn't even started flight school yet... Now I'm 760TT and 520 Multi. Find me a job up there so I can move my family back! LOL! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

We'll make it back soon hopefully.

Ahhhh....love me some Maine. Visited Bangor, Orono and Bar Harbour (Bah Habah) back in `88. BEAUTIFUL state!!

Plus, being able to walk into L.L. Bean can't be beat. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
 
I have my own server space and Im starting to put together a family/friends site for stuff like this using PHP-Nuke. That gallery is a free module for PHP-Nuke sites and It is fairly easy to set up. You can get quality server space and a domain for about $115 a year (including the domain). That is what mine cost and I have 800mb of space, 40gb of bandwidth per month, and a bunch of other features. There are probably cheaper options out there for less space and bandwidth.

BTW I took more shots today while glider towing. I will add a link here later tonight.
 
Okay one last round. These were taken today (August 5) while I was towing gliders. We just do commercial glider rides so I am always towing a high time commercial glider pilot. I will pass on towing students!!! Most of these are just airport and scenic shots, but for you Maine fans there are few good ones from a little higher up.

Our staging area for the glider is right at the midfield of runway 04-22. We get a great show all summer long of everything from GA to two different Global Express jets that frequent the field. From out setup area you can practically flick a booger on these birds as they speed by as we are almost on the runway. It makes for a great show almost all day long… at least when I am not up in the air.
