AUSTIN-SAN JOSE NONSTOP FLIGHTS
Alaska Airlines will revive Austin-San Jose 'Nerd Bird' nonstops

It looks like a new "Nerd Bird" will be flying soon.

Less than two weeks after American Airlines Inc. announced that it was canceling its two daily nonstop flights between Austin and San Jose, Calif., officials with Alaska Airlines said Monday they will start a daily nonstop flight between the two cities Sept. 2.
...
It will be the second nonstop flight offered by Alaska Airlines in Austin. Earlier this year, airline officials announced they would start a nonstop from Austin to Seattle, Alaska's home base, in August. That's also a route that American had canceled.
etc...

"From Silicon Valley to the Silicon Hills" ( ). In its heyday, American was running three daily 757s between AUS and SJC, but business has dropped off some and American seems to be "de-focusing" SJC.

Thanks, Alaska!

Maybe it's time Alaska started rebranding themselves ... or at least change their name :)
