The coolest part of today was watching these beasts takeoff while my student and I were in the runup area. On top of that, as we were maneuvering in our company practice area we got to see tanker 93 do a low pass to put out some flames from the air. Such an amazing experience to see from the air!!!! I would have taken a picture, but the last thing I want is my Chinese student thinking it's ok to take pictures and fly at the same time :D

Any idea how to rotate these pics :).... and any idea what kind of airplanes these are? I think the captain of Tanker 100 was Mr. Cidian??? Maybe you know em Dale??

MJG pointed out those aircraft, while firefighting tankers are not Aero Union tankers, the first one is the P2V Neptune, another USFS contractor and the second one is the S2T operated by Dynacorp under contract to California Department of Forestry.

All three of us fought a fire today together in Nor Cal...

20 is Aero union. 20 and 17 are sitting in Boise right now. They worked the fire in Eagle with one of our Air Attack ships yesterday.

If I can finally get this flying thing going ( Its only been 5 years of dealing with finances, the FAA, and finishing 2 degrees) THAT is my dream job.
