My question is why did ATC ask the pilot for the reason of the go around and what was the frequency he had him change over to and explain the cause of go around? I didn't know pilots needed to explain there selves.

Actually that's two questions.

1. They're British

I would presume if everything looked good on approach from their point of view - they want to know the reason because if there is any risk of loss of control they might vector them around a different way, rather than put them over a heavily populated area. It would also explain why they were so pushy!
