72 hour Vacation

I just got back from the quickest vacation I have ever had. I was fortunate enough to have a family friend loan me his Piper Dakota (high performance single) for a few weeks. I and a couple other JC users (EatSleepFly and DavHigbie) departed Long Island late thursday after to fly down to Florida via fuel stops at Suffolk Virginia (KSFQ) and 50J (Berkely County, SC) stopping at Daytona beach for the night upon arriviing at 2 AM. Next morning (Friday) departed DAB to Vero Beach (KVRB) and spent the day re-uniting with old friends at FlightSafety and spent the night in Vero. The next day (Today) we departed VRB to Clemson, SC to meet a friend for lunch and then on to Suffolk VA again for fuel and then back to HWV on Long Island.

We had a great time, with grounspeeds varying from 85 to 200 knots, about 4-5 hours of actual and a bunch of Night Cross Country time...

We took a few photos and we will post a link over the next few days to share our "vacation".....

That sounds like an awesome trip - must be nice to get offered a mate's plane. On the note of short trips, the shortest I have heard of was my dad who spent just over 24 hours in London. I thought that was pretty short for a 10 plus hour flight each way.

I don't pretend to be normal, but here are my shortest trips:

8 hours in Anchorage
6 hours in Amsterdam
6 hours in Singapore

All originating from Houston. Sad part is, I actually talked my wife into doing the Singapore trip with me.

Yup...it was a blast, guys!

I'll throw up some pictures and highlights this week if I have time.

Right now I'm exhausted from my 8 hour drive from Long Island back to Ohio.
