Lets say I have a student who unsat a checkride for something really dumb, such as the seatbelt-zip-tie-AD not being complied with (that topic from a few days ago). What additional training would be required? Could it be 0.1 hours of ground instruction? Or can I put them back in with no additional training at all if I'm willing to re-endorse them?

You must log additional training on the unsatisfactory subject. No time requirement, but an endorsed ground or flight period on exactly what the disapproval notice says. How else could you re-endorse him? Gotta have the paperwork.

I imagine the DPE will look for something in the logbook in addition to the endorsement.
