3rd Class Medical Vs. ATC Medical

Hello,
I am a private pilot with an instrument rating and I have recently been selected to take the ATSAT for Pubnat 8. My test date is Nov. 4th right around the corner and I don’t know why I have been stressing out about the medical so bad. I feel really confident about the ATSAT the only thing that has been bugging me is the medical exam in the PEPC. I have a 3rd class medical but I had to jump through hoops with the FAA to receive it. The problem I had was that I was on prescription adderall which I used only on occasion to help me in school but they made me take a $2500 dollar Psych exam's to get it after I was denied because of it. I received it and I was finally able to continue my flight training which was relieving. However, I have had a couple minor surgeries that worry me about the PEPC medical I am going to receive. In detail, I have had a potentially cancerous mole removed which they cut probably about 2 inches by 2 inches and 1 inch deep which left a pretty nice scar, and also I had a gland that swelled a lot in my throat so they removed it and I have a nice scar from that, a line across my throat. Sorry to include so much reading but I was just wondering is the medical I took for my private pilots license about the same as the PEPC medical exam, and if anybody knows if I will have any problems from my previous surgeries?
Thanks

I'd say you're probably OK on the psych exam, since it was fairly recent.

How long ago were the surgeries? You're only required to list ones from the past three years, although if you listed them on a previous medical application it is generally a good idea to list them again anyway. If the biopsy showed that the mole wasn't cancerous, I can't see that holding you up provided that you bring documentation stating that to the PEPC. It still may take them an extra week or two to get you your medical, but it beats having them defer the medical and take a month or more to tell you that it was deferred.

The surgeries were done probably about 5 years ago, and I beleieve the biopsy came back fine. So I guess I should be good. I have read in a thread to bring all of my medical documents on everything is this true or would it be alright to just bring documentation on the important things like my surgeries, I wouldn't want them to find some other stuff they dont like and deffer me?

The one I wish I had brought: bring your follow-up appointment(s) documentation. I had a kidney stone 4 years ago and had my papers from the hospital, including the discharge papers, but because I didn't have proof from a doctor that it had passed and I was okay, I had to schedule a doctor's appointment for an abdominal x-ray after the PEPC to get my medical clearance.

Don't quote me on this, but I believe the ATC medical is the same as a 2nd class medical...

Sorry, I quoted you anyway... :rotfl:

The ATC medical is different from the 2nd class. Among other things, the vision portion is more strict and they do an EKG.
