3 pilot rotation 91/135

I have been offered a 91/135 position which is a 3 pilot account with an excellent company ....my question is
What are the most convenient pilot rotation schedules ? As i would have to move from another state and my wife needs to stay for her job( temporarily) for at least 24 months and i need to at least get back once every 8 weeks ( she would come to where i am in between as well ) anybody in this situation?
These rotations are up to us as a group. 14/7 ? 10/8 ?

The typical 14/7 or 10/8 usually won't work with 3 pilots, needs 4 as vacation and training gets in the way. If the company is willing to airline swap? And are you willing to extend or come in early? I like a 4/3,3/4 rotation. But does the company expect the plane to come back after each charter?

They Could do a creaw swap or extenfd your days on the back end.A buddy of mine is the lead on 2 airplanes and they are 6 pilots ,he is running 14/7 this is the same company different account.....seems to work for him with some rare exceptions.Owner trips 150 hrs/135 150 hrs.

2 for 1, days on to days off, works mathematically. Assuming at least two pilots are PIC qualified.

300 hours a year isn't bad, that's about 200 hours per pilot. The hang ups come with sick, vacation, training, etc. if the owner is ok with getting a contract guy for the 91 stuff and just being out of service for the 135 stuff when those hang ups happen, no big deal.
Even if you have to work "a little more" at the stated tempo you're not going to notice it, unless you're always sitting on the road.

For perspective, I'm on a two pilot account with 3 owners, we fly about the same hours ratio with 5 hard days off a month. We are averaging 8 nights a month in hotels and 12 days a month "working". We do the contract pilot thing if needed and the airplane engine just goes out of service when either of us is on vacation.

Owner/charter ops will never be staffed so as to allow every pilot to never work on an "off" day, it just doesn't make economical sense to have 5 pilots for one airplane especially at 300 hours a year.

I was on a 3 pilot rotation and we had a 14/7 schedule. Our days off were usually honored. Some times we elected to stay on if a trip ran over into our off days. We had an option of crew swapping via airlining. The plane was usually taken off the schedule during required training events that fell on one of the other crewmembers' off day....unless the other crew member elected to work.

That was the best darn job I've had thus far in my career!
