Seems like I barely recognize anyone down here anymore.....

I'm sure some faces will be somewhat familiar. I was actually down a few weeks ago just to stop in and, walking around, I felt like the frat guy who still goes to the parties after he graduates.

Oh well, back to packing my truck with way more than it can carry. Planning to be down there next week...if anyone is interested in getting in the sim or splitting a ca-jet to practice- drop me a line.

Dave

I will be there. I swung into Flight Safety while on a flight today and picked up some of my supplies. Every one seemed really upbeat there, they say big things should be happening in the near future. When are you getting into town Dave? I would love to log some Cadet and Frasca time. I've flown nothing but Cessnas for the last 5 months.

I just hope you guys get on line soon. Its kind of like building the army after the war has started...I'm tired of maxing out my 8 hours of flight time a day.

For anybody in the know,

The info packet didn't say, but are they "requiring" a certain class(1,2) medical for stand and to instruct?

hey guys,

Does anyone who has recentely gone through stan. have any advice about it? Areas to focus on etc.. My FSI instructor said that stan. changed alot since he went through, bach in the day with countryman. I'd imagine getting back into a FSI mind frame and the procedures is a good place to start.

Thanks

Tony

Yep, from what I've picked up...know the procedures and checklists cold (obviously) and a little effort and hard work will pay off.

Yep, bored out of my mind in the dorms- there are no places to live here anymore. But the weather beats watching the rain up in NY.

How AIRNET goin?

Do they make you pay for the dorms? Airnet is going well. They are kicking our a$$ in training though. We finished INDOC last week and started sims on Friday. Didn't think I would have to see a Frasca again. Boy, was I wrong! Their profiles are tough because of the speeds they want you at. 190 to three files from the FAF and then cross the FAF at 150 until DH. At DH they want you stable at 100. Makes it tough losing 50 knots in a descent on an ILS approach. But, it is a great company and I'm glad I decided to come here.

CIMEpilot,

My buddies flightsafety instructor was also hired at Airnet, I think.. his name is Chris Hood???

Good luck

That name sounds familiar, but I think I remember it from FlightSafety and not Airnet. When did he start Airnet? I am still in training so I have not met everyone yet. Plus, if people are outbased away from Columbus, I wouldn't know who they are because they don't fly through here all that often.

Are there really almost no places to live down there anymore? Do you mean just on campus, or off campus places are hard to find as well? Im looking to start training in June, will I have a hard time finding a place to stay? Thanks

TrcB777,

I just saw Chris Hood yesterday. He started training with Airnet yesterday. Now, I know why his name sounded familiar. He was my friend's instructor when I was at FSA and I geminied several flights with him and went to a couple parties with him. Aviation is a small world!
