100 hour program aircraft

Just a few questions about Sky Mates that hopefully someone can help with.

How are their aircraft used for the 100 hour time building program set up? HSI,GPS,DME,WX Radar?,Autopilot?

How far are you allowed to go?
What type of limitations do they impose on you?

How many aircraft do they have that can be used?

What length of time do most people usually take to finish the program?

How much lead time did they require before you showed up?

Thanks in advance.

No radar, no wx, no GPS, no HSI, no autopilot. One airplane does have an HSI, it's not a slaved HSI. Only thing on your list is DME.

You can go anywhere in the country you want.

You have to fly a minimum of 4 hours for every 24hour you check it out.

They have 3 aircraft available.

You can fly as much as you want, or as little as you want. I wanted to take it pretty slow. Took me two months to fly the 100 hours, but you get paired up with another pilot doing the same thing, and as long as you guys work out the schedule, you fly when you want. No limitation on scheduling.
You can conceibably finish up on 5 days if you fly 24/hrs a day.

One thing, though, you need to work out the fuel issue. As you put down 6900. Any fuel you buy flying around, gets credited to your account, so you have money left over after you fly your 100 hours to fly more. Need to work out whether you can get your fuel money back at the end. I just flew the extra money off.

Hey! You forgot 581AC and 2950A! I think Alpha Charle is having new engines hung on it. Shame, the old engines still made that the fastest Seminole I've ever flown. 155 KIAS, and that's a '76.

And I heard they were trying to get G430's put in em. Not sure if that's come to pass yet.

Isn't 581AC about at its spar limit by now??? I thought it only had like 80 hours left on it a couple of months ago.

I put the last 15hours on 581AC.

You got it backwards, the engines are being saved, the airframe is dead. They were in the process of taking the engines off and putting them on a new airframe (well, not new..but) when I left..

The airplanes are safe and 69.00 and hour....If you want GPS, HSI, leather seats and yada yada then go pay a few thousand more for your 100hrs ;]...

honestly, they are perfect for time building. They arent pretty, but they are safe and cheap...couldnt ask for more.

The school has a few minor negatives, but overall, it is an outstanding place to train.

Thaaats right.

Sheesh, only been gone a month and I'm already out of the loop. I think the plane Alpha Charlie's motors are going on had an HSI, so that'll be nice.

Gotta go visit the guys if I get back to GKY soon....
