    Regional Hiring Observations

I believe the folks who did not receive CJOs did zero prep for the interview. Just because the flood gates are open doesn't mean you have an automatic ticket to the right seat. There also is a lack of qualified CAs at the Regional level, as you stated.

UAL pilot gets revenge on the employee lot gate in Denver.

I’m guilty of using instagram, but I mainly just look at other JCer’s adventures and dog pictures. I did invite Derg over for a BBQ when he was passing though DTW, but he gave me the cold shoulder…. To your point, yes, that would be interesting to see. To be honest, I think we already know the...

True. However, you’ll never catch me posting anything racist, political or company specific that will come back to bite me in the ass. That is what I meant, but yes, you are correct, this is a platform of the socials.

Because there is nothing private on any social media platform. Period. I have seen this happen on our internal union forum, as well. It’s suppose to be private and for union members only, but it only takes one sour grape and that post makes it back to the ACP office. Just don’t post anything...

I get what you’re saying, but you missed my point. They’re called fractional operators also known as 91K, not NetJet and FlexJet type flying. Here’s some light reading: 91K You make it sound like Netjets and Fexjet aren’t the place to be, why? If it suits your lifestyle/flying ambitions, it’s...

What’s a formal “NetJets and FlexJet type”? Do you mean fractional? I’m sure folks would explain this to you if you weren’t so condescending towards towards their career path. Sure, you think you’re being funny, but I hate to be the barer of bad news, the internet is a difficult place to pick...

Because CAE and FSI essentially have the same procedures/flows. The manufacture of the airframe publishes them and the training facilities puts their stamp on them and changes the cover. You're literally comparing apples to volley balls. Also, drop the *corpie* thing. It's getting old and...

    Glasses with Headset

They're not noisier, but they're pretty noisy compared to similar jet aircraft. At Brown, the 75 is ridiculously noisy. They removed every piece of sound proofing they could. It's common to switch a pack off at positive rate.

We agree there. Even with 3000+ hrs on the 75/76 it catches me off guard at times (late/early engagement).

    Hard Landing

Spoilers and auto brakes is enough braking. Aerodynamic braking is not a thing in category class aircraft. The problem is, when the auto brakes and spoilers activate, it’ll create a lot of down force, which can catch newer folks off guard.

Indeed they did and the aircraft is flying again. There were quite a few MEL’s on this aircraft including auto speed brakes, which was a contributing factor; the airport at which it happened is known for the mechanical turbulence coming off the Lufthansa hangar. The CA happens to be a good...

121 guys, how does this happen? (AKA,Oh Delta)

Most folks that I've flown with don't do this, especially in busy airspace or during day hours. It creates more of a hassle for controllers. At night, in the middle of no where, they'll utilize the opti-climb - sometimes.

Nothing has changed since you retired. 99% of the time we fire up the APU taxiing in, unless it's one of few gateways that ACARS us with "Ground power available." More times than not, there'll be a mechanic at the gate standing next to a GPU that's not turned on. By the time they get it going...

House committee votes to raise pilot retirement age to 67

Absolutely! Most folks at Brown are checking out 60-63, very few are actually staying until 65. Our pension kicks in at 60, so that’s a big deciding factor for us. If I can live comfortably at 55, I’ll retire; if not, I’ll stay till 60.
