    UPS MD-11 crash at SDF

Every mechanic I have talked to has their doubts about the MD. A couple of weeks ago (before the retirement announcement), a mechanic said he was on one of the teams doing the inspections, and 9 out of 10 aircraft had major corrosion problems - beyond the point of repair - at the inspection...

    UPS MD-11 crash at SDF

Hopefully this picture helps to explain the loading process. Having the cargo door behind the wing will make UPS change their loading process. The wings aren't aircraft specific. In regards to the next Gen freighters, that've above my pay.

    UPS MD-11 crash at SDF

Yes and no. There are two issues when it comes to replacing the MD. 1) The wing span. 2) The behind wing cargo door. The loading wings (at UPS) are setup to utilize aircraft that have the cargo door in front of the wing.

    Recurrent for Initial?

It's been about 10 years since I did the KA200 course at CAE (DFW), but I remember it being similar. I finished F900 recurrent and then did a couple sim sessions in the KA200 and a check-ride. This was all pt.91.

Another Plane Crash...This time in Lancaster PA

I stand corrected. The picture looked like a latitude or longitude. Indeed it looks like a 36 tail. On the 36 the rear barn door latches into to the empennage . The forward barn down latches into the rear door.

Can I still get hired by a legacy?

I do think you still have a chance at a legacy, I have a good friend who bent the airframe of a 767 and was hired by Delta 2 years later. All your failures are opportunities to explain what you learned from the situation and how you have improved as a person/pilot. I think you need to pace...

Usually it does. After the automated AWOS/ASOS the controller will add: tower operations 0600 - 2200 local. Unless they forget to flip the switch and you’re listening to a 6 hour old ATIS - happens more than you’d expect.

    Wall propeller mount?

I have an antique full size wood prop hanging in my office, it probably weights 20-30lbs. It's fairly easy if you can find a stud. If not, go to Home Depot and get a 70lbs drywall anchor. Or, you can find a stud and put a backer board, paint it to match your wall and anchor the prop to that.
