My parents divorced (they waited until I was 18) and my dad eventually remarried. My mom was a great cook and so was my stepmom. Stepmom taught me how to make a decent meat lasagna but her meatloaf is subpar compared to my birth mothers version, but my mom has never divulged whatever secrets she incorporates. Step parents aren't always vindictive, resentful jerks, my dad passed away a decade ago and I still keep in touch with her because she's a good person. I am a red headed step child.
