I am still annoyed about that. But apparently the electrification otherwise has gone great, and is long long overdue. I would like to go take that trip now that it’s electrified.

It’s had a resurgence over the past couple years. There’s a new ship coming out modeled after the “Viper” flight characteristics from BSG (run, flip, shootum-in-the-face, finish your donut style of manuevering) and in-ship combat is launching next month. Plus some of the weaponry has been rationalized. No more standing there running down some NPC’s shielding with laser/thermal weapons for (seemingly) 30 minutes and then switching to ballistic.

It runs well, pretty much every setting is on ULTRA and it runs probably the smoothest I've ever had a MS flightsim run since they ported it to windows from DOS back in '95.

I had to order my machine online as Costco doesn't (or didn't last November) carry this one in store). I can dig out the exact details of it if you want, I think the box is still in the garage as my kid is way behind on his chores including breaking down boxes for recycling.

I’ve been running thru their flower / botanical collection which irks my wife. I put together all these plastic LEGo plants and they’re all over the house…

Which is better than the real plants my wife buys and she tries to tend and care for but all she ends up accomplishing is houseplant homicide.

Are there any PC software ferry simulators?

MarineSafety simulators are just as diverse as full mission sims and flight training devices for the aviation industry. There are 360 degree full mission bridge simulators, 180 degree bridge wing simulators. Simulators that could be linked with other simulators for formation and station keeping and maneuvering, I haven’t seen a ship simulator that has motion yet.

It can be challenging shooting an approach to take refuelling station alongside a tanker in heavy sea states.
 
I kinda want to take up one of those truck driving sims. Seems sort of relaxing kicking back with a drink at night. Farm sims seem like they'd be fun too.

I'm sort of aging out of the FPS/arcade games. Was playing Escape from Tarkov for a while, but I just don't have the time to stay competitive with the unemployed and poop bucket set.
