Official PUBNAT2 Referral List

Thanks for the info about the address. I looked it up and it is only a few miles from JFK. That should make travel plans a little easier when/if I get an invite. Still trying to be optimistic but I am with you two above, pulling my hair out. Given the topic of this site (the FAA) they should have an icon for that.

I must admit I'm pulling my hair out a bit as well, and I'm not even in PUBNAT2, I'm in PUBNAT4! Basically, I'm just waiting to see when things start moving again for you guys, because I know it'll mean at least SOME progress is being made :D

I am excited! This is my first post on 'Jet Carrers' and am anxious to hear about Air Traffic info!

I too applied under the May 02 closing and waiting to hear a verdict concerning a possible interview. After reviewing many different conversations on this website, I decided to telephone OKC and ask a few questions.

I was informed that 'enroute' panles are meeting this approaching week. The bad news ... this means more waiting. This is not a terrible thing ... after all .... it allows individuals currently employed to save money for traveling to OKC for training! Life is good!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! JCD

With the new housing / per diem process this may no longer be an issue. Starting next week it look like they're going to pay up front your housing and travel to academy.

?? Really?! Either I'm incredibly gullible or I've been out of the JC loop for too long. If this is true could you point me to some info?

sounds to me like you DON'T want them paying it upfront, then you lose out on anything you could have pocketed out of the $40 housing per diem.

Yup, that's the same impression I got too. Since I've got the money, I think I'll just do it the old fashioned way if/when I go to OKC. Part of my plan was to drive out there and use the per-diem to take care of 100% of my expenses while I was out there and just dump the hourly pay in the bank.

my friend and i were discussing how we thought the panel went. would it be right to assume that this is how it goes: apply, make referral list, referral list is sent to desired locations, locations look over applications, locations take selections to OKC panel? to us it seems kind of like a draft pick.

Will there be an option? It sounds like they want EVERYONE to use this new method. It sucks... don't get me wrong... I just don't think they will allow it. :(

So it is my understanding that the FAA is paying for rent directly. Will they pay for any utilities, or is that out of pocket?

Usually the rates include utilities (electric, cable, internet, phone) & furnishings including electronics (dvd, television, alarm clock). That's why the rates seem so high, but it's all inclusive.

I didn't see anything that said someone MUST do that, so I'm guessing it is optional at the moment unless the wording changes or their "guideline" is really a "requirement".

We'll see...

your right, as of today ,according to student services it is optional but it could be mandatory at a later date.
