thanks for the reply.
they're hiring Falcon 20 FO's right now 1700TT and 500 ME for anyone interested.
I would totally be down with living in TVF.... absolutely love it up there... unfortunately I meet their mins for the last recruitment period and not this one... sent my stuff in anyway.... we will see.
Uh, did you not just see what those other guys wrote??
Yeah.... but being young dumb naive and currently working a dead end job I am willing to roll the dice and hope to god they come up seven or eleven. Furthermore... if things really hit the fan I have a guaranteed non flying job that I would really enjoy very close by... so I guess I want to turn the question around and say given my current position/predicament why not?
Why not go for something more stable until everything settles out a little? Flight instructing is stable, you make a lot more money, and you can live wherever you want. You're not flying a jet, but that sure must get old quick if you're not making money and worried about your job.
It just amazes me how many people in this industry want to get on with some place like this, or some crappy regional airline. Then 4 months later they're back on here as some bitter person fed up with aviation. If some of these people had the slightest bit of patience and foresight, they might be a lot happier with their lives. Oh well, good luck.
Well.... if some people had the slightest bit of patience with others and took the time to consider that maybe I have done my research and that flying 140-180 hours a month is getting pretty freakin' old... maybe I understand the risk involved in going to a company that might shut down soon. It just might possibly be that this would make me happier with my life in aviation... even if it is only for a few months. Thanks for your opinion... but I do resent the generalization you made with the insinuation that I am part of that group.
Ok.... I apologize if I sounded a bit harsh.... I guess I am getting burned out and easily aggitated these days. Although I like playing craps I just might stay out of this game.Well, I didn't say you were part of that group. Hopefully you won't be, they don't seem to be very happy. If you decide to go that route, I sincerely wish you good luck and that it all works out. So many of the decisions we make in this industry are a crap shoot.

I'd bet that none of the 10 or so pilots at cherry are people with a lack of patience and foresight... Sure the road at on demand is a rough one, especially with the lack of any real schedule and being on call for such long stretches, but none of us are here to retire - we're just like anyone else: here to get our time, check, and move on to a more lucrative gig.
