...furloughs most likely, mainly because of the removal date for the 135's and 200's moved up.

Surprised, but not surprised.

I *think* I'm safe, but you never know...gonna go drink now.

damn it. How far back is it looking like they will go? Any information. Just had a few buddies start in Novemeber-Janurary. Any word on why? I know Airways is reducing everyone. We here at PSA are suppose to lost about 15% more it sounds like. Sucks in general.

No word on #'s or anything...though the rumor is up to 150 or so...could possibly be more...who knows what to believe. Of course the newsletter was sent out last minute on Friday evening...

Just a little heads up... Apparently Richard Anderson (DAL CEO) mentioned to the line check airman that they're planning on parking 100 Delta Connection RJ's.

At this point, it's primarily just the standard post LCA meeting gossip.

You mean richard anderson? Or is Allen is middle name? I dunno....but come on Doug. Those are the worst rumors. I didnt think someone of your caliber would believe that. I wont be surprised if it happens. But Check airman from an exec jumpseating rumors are the WORST!

7 years + on Jetcareers....Averaging a pathetic amount of posts/day..but alas, my 1000th post to say...

Taco is joining in the "fun."

Good luck to those on the bottom.

Anderson, yes! Whoops! Hey, he's still a little new around here. Lemme go edit that! DOH!

Is that common in the industry for a CEO to "mention" something that is a critical internal strategic decision to a non-executive management person?? Damn! Sounds like a dangerous way to manage a multi-billion dollar company! Anyhow, I hope it really is just rumot. That's a lot of pilot jobs!

Probably just rumot.

We've got a vote on a joint-TA coming up one of these days and they ALWAYS float LCA rumors out there to drive the vote.

"OMG! OMG! We're getting a soft-serve ice cream machine in the JFK lounge! Hoo Hoo! And vouchers for free escorts in Kiev!"

Republic Airways to cut 10 percent of work force, or 500 jobs, as industry conditions worsen

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) -- Regional air carrier Republic Airways Holdings Inc. on Friday said it will reduce its work force by 10 percent, or about 500 employees, over the next several months. "The combined impacts of fewer aircraft flying and lower utilization rates on our smaller jet aircraft are leaving us with no choice but to adjust our business to current market conditions," Chairman and Chief Executive Bryan Bedford said in a statement.

Funny, no mention of how many jobs lost in Bedfords letter, figures....

I can see them firing out of seniority for peeps still on probation

Generally, when they toss around numbers like that in news articles, a majority of them are front office personnel....at first. Doesn't mean there are 500 pilots hitting the streets.

For the first time in 2 years, I'm glad Pinnacle is so short staffed.
