The apples and oranges Velo was referring to I, think (I can't speak for him with 100% accuracy), are:As JTrain sort of pointed out, I was not referring to corporate planes like a Legacy that are the size of an RJ.
I was referring to those aircraft that ExpressJet uses to do corporate charter flights. They are literally the same airplanes that fly the XJET branded flight system. Fifty seat jets that are not subsidized that appear to be making a profit and sustaining themselves quite alright. I don't think it is comparing apples to oranges because as JTrain said, ExpressJet has pilots from the same seniority list flying planes that are used in the branded system.
Interesting reality you have, I suppose.
Why do you say that? As long as there is no downsizing as a result, it might actually improve your job security. There will have to be consolidation in the regional industry sooner rather than later. There are just too many RJ operators out there fighting for a shrinking RJ market.
The apples and oranges Velo was referring to I, think (I can't speak for him with 100% accuracy), are:
apple: scheduled airline operation
orange: charter operation
I have no doubt that when XJT sells a charter it makes money -- nobody would charter an a/c at a loss. But 1) how much business do the charters create? 2) is XJT more of a scheduled airline or a charter service?
Because as it stands right now, ASA and SkyWest are operating as separate entities. I just foresee a lot of whipsaw as a result.
Not to mention the fact that SkyWest is not ALPA, so I personally believe a merger of THREE lists would be an absolute mess.
Have you read ASA's contract FlyChicaga?
lets not keep this running... i already carded merit, would rather not have to dish out more for not playing nice on the Living Room floor. You must have reading comprehension problems. Now go back and read where I said 70% across the whole operation, not one or two routes. If you had so many routes at 90%+ your overall load factor wouldn't be 53% would it? I think you need to look in the mirror before you start calling other people Mr. Know it all. And you've never encountered me, you just think you have
Oh really? The people that have met me seem to think otherwise...
Delta does the same thing with their charters from what i know.lAs JTrain sort of pointed out, I was not referring to corporate planes like a Legacy that are the size of an RJ.

Good luck to XJT. I hope it gets better for you all. I think we all should remember that this kind of thing could happen to ANY of us at ANY airline.
Isn't that the truth.. Well, unless you work at SKYW.![]()

Thank you Kristie...these posts are getting just crazy and out of control. It seems like every other thread is nothing but an argument. For the record, the arguing is getting awfully old...kinda like APC 'round these parts.
As for not posting your name or employer...I agree that it should not be a requirement. Sure, go ahead if you want, but it is awfully easy to find out "lots" of things about people when the identify themselves. Those that matter will know who the "real" GalaxyIFE is.
The ASA and XJT contracts are very similar.
I didn't want to say anything but I would too. I know how I'd use it too - spend 3 months in a foreign country learning a new language. Not to throw this thread back on track or anything <gasp!>, but my name would be first in the hat for a voluntary furlough with these terms.
