Thanks for the insight and the quick response. Wow, from Doug himself...that's awesome. I should post more often. My "BS" tolerance is the highest its ever been....so maybe it won't be too bad.
Meritflyer I read one of your posts that said you commute across the country. From where to where if you don't mind me asking?
Right now Delta has about nine daily non-stop flights between SLC and ATL. If you have to two-leg it, there are probably more than 30 options. The direct flights take about 3.5 hours. Commuting isn't a whole lot of fun. It comes down to your quality of life. Which is more important to you - living somewhere you love and having to commute, or living in ATL and not having that headache to deal with?
Moto...my other joy. My wife laughed at me when I told her I wanted to race motocross for a living. "Stick to flying" she said...considering my riding skills I'd say she is wise.
I am not at all opposed to moivng from SLC. We have a house here with a low payment and right now the housing market is on the downslope. Which is why I might want to stick around longer. Nine direct flights makes it seem doable. Great insight...Never really considered the "cost to commute"...I know how expensive fast food can be and reserve time might get costly too...which brings up another question:
How hard are crashpads to find?
Thanks all
P.S.
Hey Doug, is June Bonesteal still out of Ksdl...she's got some great books and is a nice lady
Regrattably it didn't come from one of our CRJs. The attractive foot is a dead give away. We don't have any of those here. (that and the second FMS head).
Here we go again. Hundreds of non-union pilots commute everyday, with their own companies and with union companies. Most have no troubles doing it. Hell I was given a first class seat from PHL to Italy on USAir a couple weeks ago. Don't sweat that too much.
With that said, why don't we keep the thread on target. Commuting is a pain no matte who you work for.
