And last but not least, the E30 M3. :D Best car ever made.

Now that you are making the big bucks at Piedmont, you can afford to buy an E30 or a JU-52 for that matter :D

All of the mechanics I know say that modern German engineered cars (BMW, Mercedes, and VW specifically) aren't worth a damn anymore. Maybe the ones they get in Europe are better, though.

Germans make the best sedans period! Americans make the best trucks period! Italians make the best sports cars period! Everything in between.................well.......

I was watching speed channel the other day, talked about corvette. I like the car, but the guy their interviewing says, yeah, I can get a ferrari, but with that money I can have 3 corvettes in the garage. asdkfhaskdfjaskdfkjshdahkdsafjkfds!!!!!!!#$@!#$@$#^#@$^%

That about sums up the american stereotype. More is better. Sometimes its not about quantity, as it is quality.

it's like when i tell my girlfriend, hey I got a suite!(on an overnite at the wild west inn) She's like cool. I'm like no, it's just more shi*t. I'd rather have the worst room at the ritz.

Top Gear did a comparison. While Clarkson said the new Corvette is the best its ever been, and that it is faster and looks pretty much the same as the Ferrari 575 they where comparing it too, he would still take the Ferrari 575.

They are a bunch of elitests on Top Gear. No matter how good the car is, if it is not European they will not like it.

Here's some trivia for you: What is that circular engine fairing called?

It's commonly called a Speed Ring, however, after a little digging, I found that the name is actually a Townend Ring.

Designed to reduce the induced drag of the cylinders on radial engines. Does its job, but makes for crappy visibility while taxiing.

I am just used to seeing it with this on the side:

I don't care where the car is made, to me, if someone is going to give me an $80,000 car or a $220,000 car, I'll take the $220,000 car everytime. It could be mase in Yugoslavia, doesn't matter to me. I don't call that being elitist, I call it common sense.

On the topic of Top Gear, did anyone see the one where they did a torture test on a Tacoma?

You mean the Tacoma that is STILL running, last time I had seen? Haha.

And yes, Clarkson owns a Ford GT, and he would have owned the older version if he wasn't so tall. Hamster owns the Mustang, and even had it on the show, he was pretty disappointed when he dyno'd it.

I have seasons 4-10 on my PC. (They are in the midst of season 10 right now.) The episode where they trashed the Toyota was pretty humorous. They still have it in their studio on a weekly basis during the show.

Anyone see the race between the Bugatti Veyron (Clarkson) and the Cessna (flown by May with Hammond as px)? From what I hear, much of that show is staged but it always comes out entertaining to watch.

Unless you just plan to sell it, which I would understand if that's what you're using to justify it, would put more money into your pocket straight out... otherwise is better sense to accept the one you can afford to maintain. Price out some maintenance, both routine and repairs, on a Ferrari vs. a Corvette someday.

The new Vette is the middle class guy's exotic killer, 'specially the Z06.

The new Vettes rule in the bang-for-buck performance arena. Period.

I would still take the Ferrari, sell it, and if I had to still end up with a car, get the Lotus Exige-S. While not quite the drag-strip king the Corvette would be, I don't drive everyday on a dragstrip. Besides, I already have a car that would trounce everything listed in that venue. :D

No need to, I think I know the difference.

Except for that pesky Nissan GT-R. Oops. :D
