Blue Angel #6

Williams-Gateway in the PHX area...I'm studying in the ATP building, look up and see #6 taxiing by. Was there about 1 hr, fueled up, and went. According to their schedule they recently completed practicing in HI and are headed to TX for some practice.

Piloted by LCDR Craig Olson (if you saw 'A Day in the Life: Blue Angels' on Discovery HD you are familiar w/ him). He was on the team from 2003 - 2005 but returned to the opposing solo position after LCDR Kevin Davis was killed in the #6 during a crash in April of this year.

Nice avatar Jac. The Blue Angels will be in Ft. Worth this weekend. Wish I could make it to Vegas, but will have to settle for a nice little air show.

I'll be there on Saturday.

Anyone else gonna be there?

Thanks - the king is hi-larious. Seeing the best aerial demonstration team (sorry t-birds) on earth is a pretty good second choice.

My guess is the guy is taking the airplane for his personal joy :D

Well then he should have taken me along! The Blues mentioned that they were going to Hawaii to do an airshow after they left San Francisco. I should have run away with them!

I guess you'd have to sit in his lap cause that's a single seater :D

That would be ok with me, but it would probably make it a bit difficult for him to fly the plane. :D

After all, they can't wear G-suits because they get in the way, so I imagine that having Brenda on his lap would do the same.

So ok, Mr Navy Wiseguy, I know that some of the planes have 2 seats so the Blues can take the media types up to barf - which planes have 2 seats? :p:D

Blue Angel 7 is a two seater. There are two aircraft painted with the number 7, both being two seat aircraft. These aircraft are used primarily for public relations events .

Thank you Calcapt. I knew you'd know the answer. Of course, I'm still waiting for you to go to Arizona, get one of your beloved F-14's out of the graveyard, and take me for a ride in one. ;):)
