Aviation Headsets Best?

your poll will be biased heavily toward the bose, regardless of the merit of the question. This is because people will vote for whatever they use and bose users outnumber clarity aloft users.

Do you want to wear clamps or not? That is the question.

also expect to be recommended various DC headsets, the lighspeed zulu and probably a mach 1 and perhaps a senheiser :)

personally i learned i didnt like in-ear stuff for a couple reasons, so i'd vote bose.

DCs all the way. About the same ENC cancelling as the Bose, better passive cancelling when the batteries kick out, fraction of the price.

I have a Bose, but I think I'm gonna end up selling it soon to get an in-ear type of headset.... lightweight all the way...

Eh, I've used both. I just really didn't think that the Bose were worth the extra money for what you got. Your mileage may vary.

Love my Bose. Are they worth 1000$? No! Is a Harley worth 30,000$ No! Everyone says bose is just marketing and you pay for the name and their home entertainment systems suck and so on. All I know is this, they don't hurt my head, I can hear atc clearly, and as for the batteries conking out, yeah they suck without batteries thats why I carry extras, sounds pretty tough i know, having to replace batteries mid flight, one option is change em on the ground when they are getting close. Another thing is that I get way more bat life than even bose advertises. So again I vote Bose

I love my Pilot Avionics PA17-79T's not much is better then them. The battery lasts about 40 hours and when the battery does die they are even better sounding than the David Clark H10-13S

To each his own, but for what it's worth I love me Clarity Aloft. The in-ear doesn't bother me at all and I fly a 7+ hour block day and not have a headache like the clamp designs give.

The headset is incredibly quiet and comfortable and built solid even though it looks kinda flimsy. My two cents :)

thanks for all the responses!

Well I have tried DC's, Lightspeed. They are uncomfortable to me as I get headaches b/c the design is too tight.

I am either thinking of the Bose and the CA. I heard good and bad points to both products. I heard Bose isn't that tight and just right/comfortable. I also heard CA is good as well but it doesn't require any batteries and Bose does. For CA, you have to change the earplugs too every month?

What would you guys recommend? I want something that doesn't clamp too tight on my head. Anyways is the CA as good as the Bose?

I haven't tried the Bose, so I can't compare the two. The earplugs on the Clarity are good for about a month or so. Depends on how much you fly and how much ear wax one produces :)

oh.

anyways i just came across the lightspeed mach 1. is that good? I havn't found a review for that one yet.
