FAA grounding of all 737s

In light of the explosion of the China airlines 737, do you think the FAA should ground all 737s until they find a definitive cause of the explosion?

I seriously doubt anyone here at JC is truly qualified to answer such a question. Even if you are a 737 driver. The engineers should have the real answer. I know we will see many opinions on this one, but knee jerk reactions are sooo 1987 :)

Time to find out what caused it first.

…and who will flip the bill when the airliners loose money? The 737 has a proven track record of safety. Focus needs to be put on finding out why and then acting accordingly.

Well, I think the cause of the fire is due to combustible material. What do I win? :)

They didn't ground the fleet after the rudder problems back in the early 90s. Somehow I doubt they will do it now. Also, this problem isn't related just to 737s.

Drum roll - CONGRATS!!! You win a gently used 737-800 in need of a good wax job due to some oxidation!!

Keep in mind China does not have the greatest safety record as far as aviation goes. Wow the more I think about it China has been Effing up a lot lately. If they risk losing business by cutting corners to save a penny on animal food and toys why not airplanes.

On a side note, your thread's title is "deceiving". I don't know others, but I thought it was an affirmation, and that the FAA was "actually" grounding all 737's.

"Should the FAA ground all 737's?" would be better.

I'm not trying to be an smartarse. It's just a friendly comment :)

:yeahthat: I thought the same thing at first.

I think if the cause of the fire is combustible material, we should ground all airplanes which contain it, especially if they have fuel.

It's the only way to be sure.

:sarcasm:

I know that the Alaska 737s were built around the same time as the China 737. So, the Alaska 737s should be the first ones grounded.

Ehh, let's discontinue the trolling of the website.
