A view from the Jumpseat...

....the FA Jumpseat that is.

I was on a 737-800 to LGA the other day where there was a medical emergency. To make a long story short, I had to sit in the Flight Attendant Jumpseat (the one by the entry door) for the approach and landing doing the Expressway Visual 31 into LGA. Neat to look back and see the faces of the PAX!

It is an interesting view isn't it :)

I prefered the view from the #2 seat on the 80. (All the way in the back.) You could actually SEE the bend & flex of the airframe on takeoff & landing. Pretty unnerving at first!

There was a VERY good reason why I was on the jumpseat. Sent ya a PM to explain.

From what I understand, Chuck Norris was on the flight and said he had it - he put Seggy in the seat so he could conduct CPR AND land the plane. See, Seggy is big and would block the aisles otherwise... ;)

Lemme guess.... 150 versions of this?

Very nice!

The flight attendant jumpseats scare the piss out of me. I hate sitting backwards and on the aft jumpseats on the MD-90, it's loud, you have not idea what's going on and you can't see jack.

I sat in the allll the way in the back jumpseat row on a 757-300 once and the F/A told me to look forward at touchdown. Yes, the bend down the aisle was visible. Weird to see that.

I don't know how the flight attendants don't get sick from all that extra yaw moment during taxi when there is nothing to see.

Try sitting in a forward facing jumpseat on a 737 where the sodas are just thrown into the metal boxes. It sounded like a machine gun going off back there on take off.

Well, the back of all the MD's (minus the 11) is non-rev central.

Loud, next to the lav. . .makes you re-think your non-rev benefits.
