New Delta Commercial

I'm not generally the guy who gets all warm and fuzzy about an airline, but this was kind of inspiring!

Two points for finding the mojito and the red dress! :)

Commercial

Nice! I know I was inspired (really), where do I sign up? :rawk:
Are you flying yet or still in sim training?

Got typed a couple days ago, today's the last day of Long Range Nav school (which involves the simulator, go figure!) and I start IOE on monday. Check the announcements forum for details on that.

It gave me the warm and fuzzies....I like the part where they have the widget up on a design board...I'll be rolling around LAX in a new red-widget aircraft in about 25 days.

I think it's more of a 'test kitchen', but the biz elite meals are actually designed by an actual chef.

Of course, you'll see that commercial, but you're sitting in the D-concourse that's like the "Fall of Saigon" waiting to get on CRJ to Baton Rouge that's three hours late! :) (got that one from an ASA guy!)

So not only will you be getting 48 layovers in Paris, but you will also be getting that international food on the flight also. Suuuuweeeeettt.

Its funny - the beginning of that commercial where it showed a broken down, deserted airport... it looked a heck of a lot like Baghdad Airport when we first took it over.

Dam! Some of those images flew by pretty fast but I caught the tasty mojito and the uh sexy red dress:confused: . I believe A/A has the sexiest FA uniforms though.:nana2:

The red FA uniform has been on the drawing table for quite some time now, I remember seeing sketches of it online a couple years ago.

Remember our first look at the new livery? The scale model? That model aircraft and hangar occupied less than half a second in the commercial, but I bet it cost upwards of twenty grand to built. Nice to see Delta's back to its old, wasteful spending ways.... :sarcasm:

HEAR HEAR!!!

My favorite are the hooker boots. Every once in a while you'll see one of the FA's wearing them. I'll try to snap a pic when I fly again next next week. They make the FA look more like a dominatrix! "Beg me for that diet coke... BEG ME!!"

I'm trying to picture myself in hooker boots with my old uniform, and I crack up laughing every time.

Hooker boots with my old polyester blue?! OMG, thanks for the laugh, that's the funniest thing evah!

I can't imagine that even looking remotely good. First, the uniforms are blue, I've yet to see those heeled boots in anything but black. High black boots with navy blue is a fashion 'don't'. Second, the AA uniforms are probably the 'stuffiest' looking uniforms out there, you can't put fashionable in-style boots with an outfit like that! Those uniforms were designed in the mid-90s, and have been 'in service' since 1997. The only uniforms out there that pre-date AA's are NWA's! AAs uniforms could be a lot worse, and all in all I guess they're not that bad. But I had issue with how they fit. The sizing was all over the place, you never knew what size to order in what piece. The dresses had to be professionally tailored if you didn't want to look like you were wearing a potato sack. The shirts actually came with shoulder pads (eek!), so those had to be removed unless (when coupled with the jacket, which also had shoulder pads) you wanted to look like a linebacker.

You know nothing about red FA uniforms, or how to financially run a company into the ground, fein bankrutcy and hold employees at gun point to get concessions.

You might think you know from reading a magazine or having a pilot tell you. But that is all second or third hand info, not first hand.

So, I'll politely ask you to refrain from posting in this thread. When you should just be reading...
