Eagle offering domicile choice/new hires

How does a/c selection work? Is it bidded by seniority in the training class (by whats available)? Is it just random?
Yes, by seniority in training class by what's available at a specific domicile at the time of your new-hire class.

However, they've recently started letting folks know what domiciles are available BEFORE class, so that they can defer until they can get the base they want.

Thanks for the answers, ready2fly. Eagle is looking nicer and nicer, especially in terms of QOL.
Without candy coating it, I'll say this about Eagle:

The ONLY gripe I have with Eagle is the total disrespect we get from scheduling. Doesn't matter if you're a Captain, FO or FA. Doesn't matter if you hold a line or on on reserve. Doesn't matter if you're #1 on the senority list, or (like me currently), somewhere in the 2400 range: they absolutey treat you like crap.

They truly believe they own you - and to a certain respect - they do.

Our union, in it's lack of balls, signed a 16 year contract of which we in year 6 (I believe) wherein pilots have little to no say. Flight attendants have it just as bad, if not worse.

The high-school grads in scheduling know it and they exercise it.

If you can overlook that, everything else about Eagle is absolutey fantastic. And that is no B.S.

.

I think the guys in SJU are pretty good, we have seperate schedules on the ATR. But I only did 2 months of reserve so I didn't have to deal with them for very long.

But my question about this whole picking your domicile deal is how are they going to get people to want to come to San Juan. I'm from NY and at my new hire class I had the choice between LAX saab and SJU ATR. I chose the ATR but if i could wait a class to get LGA i would. Should be interesting.

This is too funny, Stan. Now they decide to lower the minimums and "sweeten" the deal so to speak. It'll be interesting to see how the responses will be.

This domicile assignment issue was my biggest problem with Eagle, followed very closely by scheduling. I was also only reserve for two months in SJU, and it wasn't that bad at all, but when I got to MIA it was absolutely terrible. I almost lost it a couple of times with them.
