TV with HBO
AAA Discount

$29.95 - can't beat that!

I dunno man, I don't see all that attrition happening. Call me an optimist, but I think this may very well be the best time to be a Colganicleite.

Sim time should be a little easier to get as well now that we allegedly have one all to ourselves at the STL FlightSafety.

Dude I definetly agree with you. I think this is a great time to be at Colgan. Lots of growth and I personally welcome all the new changes.
:nana2:

The 19-hondo is totally bad ass.

If it's good enough for Seggy, B767Driver and myself, it's A-ok.

Actually, I wouldnt of minded if I got the Beech instead of the Saab. I hand fly most of the time, until I get lazy on the last leg of a 16hr day

Hmm does the PMDG B1900 count? That plane is pretty awesome. I fly it on flight sim haha. Maybe sometime I will get to fly the actual 1900.

My only complaint about the 1900 is...If I wanted to be a flight attendant I wouldn't have spent 40Gs on flight school or a degree.

Hey Colgan/Pinnacle guys....Since Pinnacle just bought Colgan, does that mean there will be a colgan base in Memphis and would it be a senior base or a junior new hire base? Or will they not even base colgan guys there since pinnacle is out of memphis? What are the junior colgan bases??

Im out of school in May and will be trying to launch applications a lot of places but didnt know anything about or heard of Colgan till I got here...Thanks for any help/advice

I'm actually from Upstate NY (So I could really make Ithaca or Binghamton work), but having a base in PIT/LGA/BOS and having actual trips is where you can make your per diem, which can REALLY help when you only make $21 and $22 per hour.

Whereabouts in Upstate NY? I am from the Ithaca Area.

It's sad but it's true. $450 in per diem per month for me is like almost $700 in pretax income in my tax bracket. That's a lot of money for a regional/commuter FO, especially when I spend <$50 per month on food for the road.

It's so sad that I make 1/3 of my disposable income while making $1.50/hour...(reality check time)

They turned me down with 1100/100, 2 months ago. I don't understand what they wanted because people with about 1/2 the time I had were getting interviews.

Not that I'm bitter or anything. I think it worked out because I'm in ATC school though.

I know of 2 ppl in class right now that are under 300 hrs, but they are the jet u types. I'm not sure of the mins right now, but a lot of ppl on aviationinterviews.com are showing under 1000TT. Nobody knows about outstation basing right now. THat's got to be one of the top 3 concerns right now. That's what makes colgan different. For a lot of us, if you live in base and come home everynight, QOL is awesome. It would take a lot of work to change it and the flight schedules on the US air side, but a bit easier on the United side. IT would also be expensive to overnight crews in outstations that they already live in. That doesn't mean that it won't be changed. :-( We do have a dedicated sim in STL now, which helps a ton. THere are 2 saab sims in St.louis now since they got rid of the J-ball sims. It's an exciting time to be at colgan in my opinion. THe signs have pointed towards growth pre-buyout, and now it looks even better. This company is going to change a ton in the next year or 2, and it looks like a good time to get in.

Just a quick question, and I don't need any rude comments because I am just asking.....but as of right now if I wanted to be based out of KIAH, would Colgan be the regional of choice? What are the chances of getting IAH with Colgan? (Excluding XJT- because I dont have thge hours)
Thanks for any response!

I think 3 or 4 out of 10 in the last class got IAH. I know that there was a memo saying that we needed fo's in IAH,TYR, SYR, and I think ROC that came out last month. THat being said, it could change at any day. Houston is a big hub for us and probably holds 1/4 of our pilot group. IT's the only place where we don't have out station basing. It's also the place where everyone sees the expanision happening in the near future. If you don't get IAH out of training, you will be able to hold it no more than probably 3 months or so. Colganites, tell me if you disagree :-)

I know of 2 ppl in class right now that are under 300 hrs, but they are the jet u types.

A few questions:
1. Are they at Colgan or PCL?
2. How much ME do they have coming in?
3. What do you guys think of this low time pilots? (what are the IOE CA saying about them)

Thanks!

Ahhh, it is called PAYING YOUR DUES.

Good things in life do not come easy. Bust your hump, and you will be more appreciative of the long term results.
