The tort system does have problems, but it's not out of control and not going to be solved by stripping individuals of their rights to their day in court. Proposed tort reform serves only to protect businesses and nothing to solve the actual problems. While you chuckle while watching your company's sexual harrassment prevention video, someone may have been attacked before it was necessary. Your car is safe partly because someone was injured, they sued, and something was changed to make it safer.
While I agree something may have happened to start the "sensitivity training" at a lot of places, I've mainly seen it taken advantage of instead of used properly. Don't like someone in the office, trump something up on sexual harrassment. I've PERSONALLY seen this done at three different employers by several different people. In all cases, the accused was suspended without pay and eventually "let go quietly" to keep things from getting worse. Right to work state and all, that can happen. In a couple of those cases, the person making the accusations was bragging about how that got so-and-so fired months later. I even got called in as a witness in one case and was like "Uh, I wasn't even WORKING that day."
If people would stop trying to abuse the system for $$$ and personal gain, things would be better. Unfortunately, human nature and greed often take over in those situations. Meanwhile, guys have to be careful about who they say "You look nice today" to.....
