NetJets crash in Laredo TX

It looks like they made a last minute change to use the freeway for the emergency landing. Dang, something must have happened pretty quickly.

Wow, that could have been a lot worse of an outcome.

Good thing there wasn't a giant fuel-fed fire...

If your trying to say NJ, the biggest and arguably safest charter and fractional company in the world and the only one with licensed dispatchers ran out of gas last minute I’d say that’s absolutely wild take.

But I guess we’ll find out.

I think you're taking the post the wrong way. I'm reporting what I observe, nothing more. There are a thousand reasons one might not have a giant fuel-fed fire after a crash.

I'll say what everyone is thinking...

No large post crash fire, a long diversion and direct-to flight to Laredo instead of Austin. Not making the runway. These are weird things. Very strange things.

This is not dispatch misfueling the flight. They flew 400 miles after they diverted to Laredo. Misfuel in Cabo? Liters instead of gallons for the fuel order? I really really doubt it.

But something caused that airplane to not make the airport. Obviously we are gonna find out. I just hope it's not a case of trying to make a US destination on fumes.

I don't get it.
Why the hell would you change from an aligned runway?
If they were flamed out and coasting in? That highway looked a lot better than all the housing that was between them and the runway when they decided to turn away. That right 270 looks like they were trying to lose altitude and then ended up without enough to get there.

:/
Hmmm....
Not the same engines as that Challenger...
Hope it's not fuel exhaustion.
Flock of geese?

Man this sucks...

The worst thing about an impressive safety record is when it ends. This might also be the first fatality in the 680/680A airframe. Honestly between this and the Dale Jr. accident I continue to be amazed by Cessna engineering. Awful that not everyone walked away but I’m impressed by how many did.
