I first grew a beard when I was flying 135 in Alaska. Back when I was young enough that I needed it to make the pax stop asking me “are you old enough to fly yuk yuk yuk”.

Somehow, that’s not an issue for me anymore…

1. Threatened to close the newly opened SAN base if they get too many sick calls

2. CP’s first email after moving back to Seattle (after being out in HNL to pester @BobDDuck and friends) complains about high sick calls… in the middle of cold and flu season… and same week that Seattle had flooding.

Nothing new from what I hear of this management team but busy league for sure

They must have compared notes with the Southernjets Chief Pilot offices. Especially the one in New York. Same exact playbook. We even got "reliability" letters mailed out to people that called out sick. Sorry y'all are having to deal with that too.

At least our IT was smart enough to reset our look back from last July. Went from 77 down to 10 hours

Serious question (and I'm not trying to make excuses because I think it sucks): Have you ever seen a management team, aside from maybe Herb, that was honest to it's pilots?

It’s amazing that on APC, beards gets more attention than their 787 and 321 displacements.

Priorities, I guess.



At VX we lost our open collar shirts/no ties and adopted the full AS uniform.


Why anyone thought beards would survive this merger is beyond me.
