Oh United VII

At least a “keep your eyes on the ball” message was put out yesterday regarding this, to not allow various distractions to get in the way of safety.

Every transport category aircraft I’ve flown is 2.5 g flaps up and 2.0 g flaps down.

I’ve also yet to fly a transport category aircraft with a g meter.

It’s in FAR Part 25 for transport category aircraft. 25.337 has “except that n may not be less than 2.5”.

I’m not sure where the 2.0 g flaps down lives but I bet it gets it’s own section somewhere.

Sorry this is as bad as citing the TERPS but I think the origins of airworthiness certification is kind of cool. :)

To be fair though, that video still makes me giggle every time I see it, so that’s worth it.

Buzz should have given him the option to speak his opinion and listened to him with patience and understanding.

If he had just had a conversation with the insane guy, I’m sure he could have brought him around.

Filmed at Barstow-Daggett hangar 2

@MikeD did I get the reference?

I only watched this for the first time fairly recently and was shocked to see how bad ass the flying sequences were over the Antelope Valley.

1977 must have been a crazy year - people learned about the fake moon landing, UFOs visiting earth and ancient space wizards with laser swords all in the same year. :D
