Ameriflight Drone

I like that it parallels your course way better than what Dassault came up with which was a 90 degree turn. Better hope you wake up before you hit something depending on what part of the world you are in.

We had one of your retired guys as an instructor a few years ago that had been on that thing. It was like watching someone explain sex to an alien when he was telling some of our only flown a 737 guys about it.

Creepy AF to watch. I'll have to look in the FCOM to see how much of this system we have though:

Wait has episode 3 already dropped for Last of Us??? How did we get spoilers in this thread

Great show, we're loving it!
Well, if you have a rapid depressurization and you don't respond after a period of time, diver down baby!

Our instructor today doesn't believe in snapshotting, we had just finished training at FL300 and we wanted to do some touch and goes in JFK. "Here, watch this".

Autoreports via CPDLC, turns to parallel your course and BOOM.

I would like to vote for a name change from diver down, to bussdown! :D

Anyone who thinks humans will omnipresent on the flight deck in the next 25 to 50 years hasn't pressed the "Automated Emergency Descent" button on a A350. It's about the scariest, most profound thing to see work.

Tried Honeywell, Garmin, and another. They were benign.

You guys are kinda cranky about this. Natilus stockholders or what?

Natilus? Nah.

There are others though...

This is such a disingenuous argument. How long do we go between ape-driven automobile accidents that kill someone?

I won’t make you look it up. The answer is 13 minutes. Every 13 minutes someone dies in a car accident from a car driven by a human.
speaking of disingenuous, extrapolate the autopilot accident rate per mile to every car in the country being operated autonomously and then compare to meat driven

or do you not get statistics

In my opinion, this is just AMF's knee jerk reaction to appease disappointed customers due to them not being able to fulfill their agreed upon contracts because of lack of staffing. I do not believe that they will go through with these orders when the time come. They just have to have the appearance to be working on fixing their staffing problems.

They've bent some metal (good planes too) here recently likeky due to lack of experience on the flight deck. The pay is not nearly as bad as it used to be and they still can't find and retain enough quality crewmembers....and this is even with flow ups to UPS!

Those rates are published and well known. Go Google. Teslas on autopilot are 6x safer than ape-driven autos.

Everyone I know in the time building phase, wants to get on with Am Flight, but can't. Because they don't often post SIC positions. They just dole them out to the students in their UPS program. That could be a possible reason why they're currently having staffing problems. Tons of low timers struggling for hours would love to jump to AM Flight, if they could, that would almost immediately solve their current staffing issues.

The reason is because they really don't need SIC's on a vast majority of their airframes. The only planes that require it are the Brasilia and recently acquired Saabs. Paying SIC's in the other airframe cost additional monies that they may not be able to pay long term. AMF usually outbids it's competitors for these contracts and the profit margins are tight. Paying for SIC's on the single pilot airframes wasn't a part of their business model and likely hurts the bottom line. Heck, AMF is used to being PAID to have SIC's in the right seat of their single pilot airplanes!

i refuse to google as i dont care

6 times safer is one person dead every 78 minutes ⁉ thats horrific!

1. Why would you consider that horrific when you don't consider it horrific when someone is dying from an ape-driven car crash every 13 minutes? Perhaps you're biased against safer automated cars?

2. That isn't how statistics work. Autopiloted Teslas are 6 times safer, but there are far fewer Teslas driving than ape-driven cars, so it's nowhere near every 78 minutes. There have only been a handful of crashes total so far. And frankly, those crashes have all been the result of human drivers in the other cars. Not the autopilot.

Ahh, yes, what was it called? Eagle Jet International? Are they even still around and placing people for PFT?
