Airbus Tech Support Desk is OPEN

Also known as, "we hope you don't have to do this because you'll have about as much control as a DC-10 after an uncontained engine failure."
Or, “do not turn off all flight control computers en route (you know who you are, and you know what you did!)”

Favorite headset in the Airbus? Do you use an adapter or have a dedicated XLR set? Please don't tell me you use the nasty ass ship set...
I’ve got a DC Pro-X. 10/10 would recommend. Also my favorite headset for the Embraer 175 and the CRJ.

The 320 isn’t as quiet as everyone seems to think it is, particularly at transition altitude where everyone takes their headsets off, and especially if you’ve got the speed cranked up.

I’ve got the Bose Proflight 2. I love that it fits great, very lightweight, and I can just take an earbud out if I need to. I hate the quality of the sidetone audio.. It’s almost too quiet or distorted—I can’t hear myself talk, which I find to be a little distracting.

I had the DC Pro X in the 175. Loved it so I’ll probably switch back to that.

I have the Airbus plug and a GA adapter as a few of our planes still have those.

Same.

And the newer buses are quiet, the older aren’t, largely (probably) because some of the “make quiet” stuff isn’t convenient to do routine maintenance around,

ANC reduces fatigue, quiet or loud cockpit.

I use the DC PROX2 and am kind of "meh" about it. It is comfortable, but after wearing it a couple hours, my hair is all messed up. Additionally, my cheap AF employer opted to not order our planes with the power plug, so even though it has an XLR connector I'm still buying batteries.

On the positive, even with the ANR turned off, it's still much quieter, comfortable, and has far better audio quality than the ship sets.

I got the telex850 when Corona started, primarily because I didn’t want headlamps and didn’t have time to try on a bunch of sets. Knowing the 750 was the ship sets I knew it couldn’t be to bad. Got them on eBay for $150. Happy I made the choice to do so.

Our ship sets are slowly being replaced with the 850s, and I have to admit I kind of like it… I think it has just about the right amount of ANR.

I use the ship set. Clean them with a sanicom for every new plane and never had an issue. I take them off through 18,000. Some guys bring big Bose ANR and leave them on the whole time. To each their own, I don’t wear headsets during cruise the bus is too quiet for that.

Telex airman 8 anr. Earplugs go in at cruise when they come off.

Bus isn’t as quiet as people think it is.

I'll have you know I tried this in the Sim a couple years ago and was able to put it down on pavement! Instructor said he's never seen anyone do it before.

edit: it wasn't pretty
Was it a parking lot or the runway? You didn't specify which pavement.
