PFT Gets Bitten

And AGAIN we question WHY this 135 certificate holder is in operation.

The Feds need to get involved. Nicholas Air is a soup sandwich!

I guess the FAA has been on a bit of a tear trying to fine 134.5 operators and also go after the pilots who are even unknowingly flying illegal charter. Often with certificate action.

Another reason I'm glad to no longer be part of that world.

4 Hours to load 2000lbs? Wow it would be nice to have that kind of time!

Depends on what you’re loading? I mean he was doing hurricane relief stuff, so it could be weird bulky stuff.

It took me 2.5hrs to load a caravan once, a four wheeler, and two full fuel drums by myself, plus a bunch of light loose stuff in the pod.

Another time I had to load a 1000lb generator without a forklift into a Pilatus. The skid loader was too big and janky to safely fit between the wing and the tail, so I ended up using a series of come alongs and ramps to get it in. It was next to impossible. I had help the , but it still took over an hour.

Not sure what he was loading, but not every load is fish boxes and dog food ya know? One of the hardest trips I did was a full load on a beautiful VFR day - the hard part was the mix of the ridiculous awkward •, and then volcanic ash sigmets, then it took me an hour to get it out of the airplane without damaging the thing.

Not saying it should take 4hrs but I can see it if things were particularly screwed up and he didn’t have help - especially as an old guy.
