CI=300

Yes I agree... This HAS to be illegal. I wonder if they have somehow managed to disable / bypass the audible overspeed warning. 10 hrs or more of that would be nerve wracking at best...

No where did it say they were flying a speed in excess of Vmo/Mmo. It just referenced CI 300, which is god knows what speed but probably near Vmo but most assuredly less than Vmo.

No idea how a high CI could be illegal.

10 and a half hours with just 2 pilots though, woof.

Why type of plane do you fly?

That’s my first thought as well.

I seriously question your claim of being an airline pilot if you really think a CI of 300 would put a speed bug beyond VMax, or that if a crew would disable an overspeed warning for a 10+ hr flight.

Curious, how do you turn off an overspeed warning/clacker in an Airbus or Boeing?

Unethical… perhaps but illegal… most certainly not. Makes a person question how they get back from Guangzhou without at least a 3rd pilot to provide a rest opportunity but a CI of 300 i

Yeah, he really outed himself with this one.

I really think when someone is proven to be a fake airline pilot they should get the boot.

Not at all... Just throwing speculation out there. Never seen a 300 CI. And never sat up front on a 787 either.

your comments make it sound like you don’t even understand what CI numbers even mean. I find it hard to believe ANY airline pilot today doesn’t know what CI is or how it effects the speed of a plane.

Simple... Everyone should know this enter "0" the ship should slow down... Enter "100" the ship will speed up. From My experience CI is governed by fuel prices anyway. Does Your carrier instruct You to dial in .300?

i have no idea what CL numbers are or what they do, being a mere ppl holder. Can you explain it to me in layman’s terms?

CI. Cost Index. Basically, the most efficient way to fly a big jet to meet a certain goal on the speed vs. cost matrix. Clear as mud? It's programmable in all Boeing boxes I'm aware of, and I would guess Airbus has some analogue that's the same thing but has a different name because Airbus is French Oh-ho-ho-ho. Would try to help more but for obvious reasons I have the evident OP on ignore, so.

Im just gonna "ignore" Your pointless jab. No useless ignore buttons necessary over here.. SMH

The short answer is change the climb/cruise/descent profile to match other conditions (costs).
