Oh gawd

thats nice you do work yourself. Just tell me you don’t get up on ladders. I’m always amazed at the boneheads that make 300k+ a year but won’t pay someone to do “ladder work.”
I don’t wanna our words in his mouth, but I wanna say the only thing he did was the washer pump and that was a case of “warranty is up, neighbor/buddy sold his BMW repair shop, and it just needed to make it until the Tesla showed up”.

I know that you're not down with Korean luxury cars. But Hyundai's luxury arm Genesis is really cranking out some really beautiful and more importantly reliable luxury cars. Example the G70 & G80. If I had the money and was in the market for a luxury car, those two cars would be in my purview.

Eewww.

When you going to test drive the Tesla??? It’s in my driveway when you come up here...

Still got a few months to go on the Audi lease.

Don’t get me wrong, I love all three of my BMW’s as there’s nothing else that drives like it, not even my Tesla. However, the newer models are absolutely a nightmare to do your own maintenance on and break a lot. I went through two sets of turbochargers, something wacky with VANOS a few times, random hoses, radiator twice, shoot, something as simple as a the windshield wash fluid pump will murder you with the required gymnastics (labor labor labor!) to replace.

And it ate run flat tires like a fat man on Wing Tuesday.

If you don’t mind me asking, what year models are these and how much mileage did they have when the turbos went or the VANOS issues?

I do agree that they literally design these things to be dang near impossible to work on by owner and require tons of things to be removed in order to access something simple you need changed.

Yeah pretty Dooshie.

Also, it’s obvious there’s a lot of people who don’t know half of what they think they do about their cars.

And I'm trying to understand how a Regional pilot can afford his lifestyle (cough, mom..cough..daddy)? You know, the *cool rad* 2020 BMW X5, nice house(condo) with the nice furniture and complete with the high maintenance girlfriend. Drinking $5 energy drinks and designer protein shakes etc...
Not that you're looking for a real answer but I recently realized that life isn't fair.

When I see regional dudes flexing it's because they have family money. Plain and simple. No debt because Riddle/UND and flight training was free or mom and pop have a silver spoon securely inserted into thier butt. It's not healthy to compare oneself to others but to assume an RJ capt can afford what you see is just a fallacy. It's like saying Pamela Anderson got famous for her natural cans...

I haven’t looked lately, but in my time at UND the cost was nowhere near as much as Riddle. Just a state school with an aviation program.

Real talk. Lots of people in this particular forum could afford to buy that car (some even outright) but aren't so vain that they have to.

But I post pics of BBQ.....

Those are short, sweet, to the point.

But when you start doing 25 minute videos about that stretch "I submitted an app to Envoy and got hired" into a tale of insurmountable obstacles and "click the link to check out my sponsor!" we're going to have an intervention :P

Oh hell, I’ve owned an X5.

It wasn’t a pleasant experience. I pity the foo.
