United new uniforms

Well sorry I don't like buying complete sets of uniforms 2X in one year or listening to someone drone on about a 55K sheep hunt after I hint at them to STFU by telling them I'm losing my home. I'll work on it.
What if it's their way of saying "Cheer up, sport, chit will get substantially better!"? Pilots are socially weird.

What's with losing your home thing? First year pay less than advertised or just "crap happens"?

I was hired into an aircraft and base. My aircraft and base were changed. I had planned per promises made during a direct phone call, to return to said aircraft and base in a specific time frame. This turned out to be an empty promise. In the ensuing months I got myself into debt holding onto a home I thought I'd be able to move back into. Now the chickens have come home to roost, so to speak. I'm too broke to go on.

Sorry to hear, that does not sound like fun at all. Wish you a speedy recovery from that.

Dude. You are honestly your own worst enemy in life. Honestly...

What what the hell are you taking about? You fly for a airline with one pay rate and only west coast bases. So, same pay rate and yes commuting to go to a Crashpad sucks but it lets you live where you want to. Sounds like you didn’t budget for minimum guarantee, and make sound financial decisions.

I commute to short call reserve and even my worst day at NK thus far has been better than the average day at SKW.

And ask me about my 17 days off this month too.

Dude you need to change things up. Sounds like you love financially volatile then blame a company for your issues. I’ve seen your posts for years about how everyone else is the problem, at what point are you going to take responsibility for your actions and hold yourself accountable?

Am I the only FO who, when the Capt starts whipping out pics of his muscle cars, airplanes, or beach house, actually gets excited about the fact that with a little time and financial discipline, that's what's waiting for me, too, when I move over to that seat?

I'm surprised how many folks are instead looking for reasons to be offended.

Nah, not at all, I enjoy that stuff too.

Only people who get mad at that are those who are financial disasters.

Hey now, I'm a financial disaster but it doesn't mean I blame others' good fortune for it.

You prove my point. You don’t get mad at it. Those that get mad at that stuff instead of being happy for somebody else’s good fortune to buy stuff like that, are dumpster fires financially and are disgruntled because of it.

No offense on my part. But it's wholly context with me. Were the pics the natural evolution of a conversation? Or was it simply an avenue to brag about how much better I am *perceived* than you because of the vast amounts of my expensive material possessions.

In the situation that you described, I'd probably be fanboying out at the pics too.

SHow me all the expensive toys youd like. HOWEVER, please refrain from showing me pictures of your wife (who is my mothers age) in a bikini while anxiously awaiting my reaction.

Oh god I hate that.

One captain I flew with was basically baiting me to ask about pictures of his second (flight attendant) wife and eventually showed me pictures of her in the shower with her new “attachments”.

He was one of those attention hounds that need far too much validation and she wasn’t much to look at. I felt bad because she probably has no idea that he’s not at work taking about how wonderful their life is together or how nice of a person she is, but that “Hey, look my wife just got new boobs, here she is in the shower: LOOKATUM!”

“Uhh, neat!” while parenthetically thinking “Dear god, that can’t be unseen”
