When I order yellow mustard on my sandwich and it comes with, I kid you not, Brown mustard. I lose trust in the world and a part of me dies a little inside. But then I take a bite and it doesn’t taste that bad so I carry on with my day.

Seriously, usually the most difficult things on a dispatcher's shift are when you have a bad weather day at one of your hubs, and it causes multiple flight diversions. It's usually pretty rare though.

I learned long ago. Not to dwell on things beyond my control and to focus on the things in life I can control. I can’t control the GDP rates or how fast a TS moves over the airport. But I can control my hunger.

By then your outbounds are long gone, your inbounds are still 5 hours out, and your maintenance delay is going to cause a crew to time out.
