KLM no longer sees any added value in pilots wearing caps. Besides, the aim is to give pilots a more modern and accessible appearance. Consequently, the pilot’s cap for women and men will no longer be worn at KLM and KLM Cityhopper from January 1, 2018.

However, pilots have the choice to donate caps to a foundation for ill children who dream of flying.

Keep in mind KLM is 98 years old, founded in 1919. They're not some new-age Virgin America type airline. Sign of the times?

I'm surprised it's taken this long. Airline pilot uniforms are derived from military uniforms (naval, mostly) and military customs generally dictate that headgear isn't worn on active flightlines and indoors.

One Halloween, I was asked if I had a pilots hat so this amazing caring and kind girl (super hot) could be a slutty pilot, nope. She went as a slutty cop, friend of mine was a LAPD Officer, he had a better time then I did....hats are needed in my opinion...never know why you will need them.

You miss all the shots you don't take.
