Alaska/Virgin arbitration

Depends on the options and battery type...new 2017s in my area are around $12k-$13k with the discounts, probably not worth it to buy used at that price point.

Best value used electric right now is the Fiat 500e.
Huh, 4k for a 86 miles electric car? For an around town car, that works. Compared to my current vehicle, it'd take about 30k miles to break even. Even with our $.16 per kW/h electricity.

I don’t really follow...you’re not going to find any 86 mile electric car for $4k unless it doesn't come with a battery.

The Fiat 500e. I googled that, and that was the price towards the bottom end of the used models coming off leases at wholesale.

I'm looking for a new commuter car, and this thread peaked my interest.
I searched and saw the dismal range all these vehicles have. Most are 80-130miles between charge. On top of that, there isnt much said about winter driving.

I'll pass.

Used Prius' make the best deal hands down. Even the Gen II's are good (up thru 2009) and offer the best value IMO. We have a 2010 gen III w/ 100k on it. With gas prices depresssd their value has really dropped.

Depending on how much you want to spend look for something with <150k on it around $6k.

but then you are driving around a prius.....not worth it.

Soooooo...about that Alaska/Virgin Arbitration...

Yesterday, Alaska's great idea to outsource de-icing blew up in their faces. IDS didn't have crews/trucks ready...sent airplanes out with "clean" statements and they weren't clean...aircraft waiting 1.5-2hrs at SEA for parking...and flights being held/cancelled into SEA due to the catastrophe.

I heard SJI was just as bad as far as time.

My Skyweezy E170 was overbooked today, so I jumped on the $400 travel voucher grenade to take a later flight on Redwood. I am clearly not the target audience for things like the cheesy hip hop safety briefing music video or the credit card sales pitch that used the word “bestie”. The jet was ok though. I wouldn’t call it noticeably different from a 737 as far as comfort though (@Screaming_Emu is going to be so disappointed in me). Plus side there were like 30 people on a 319.

I never thought the A320 series was a whole lot better from a pax perspective, maybe because I’m always nonrevving and stuck between two big dudes. The jumpseat is another story.
