Was Perth the closest airport to go to? I would have wanted something immediate. Seems like a dumb decision to go almost 500 miles all the way back.
Quite a history battling situational awareness.

Apparently there was an AU/US Air Force base 25 min away but they went 90 min to Perth...
"Land as soon as possible"... Meh
Short answer, yes. If it's shaking bad enough to take out the wing or burning hard enough to fail the wing it should fall off before that happens. Different scenario, but flutter scares me a lot more.....If the vibration was coming from the engine, do the engine's shear bolts fail before something important on the airframe, like the wing spar, does?

Not sure, maybe. As much as I dislike Hawkers they are strong. That was the Hawker AD from the winglet retrofit?
Wrong airline, that's Aeromexico.Jesus already has it. I'm pretty sure that's who decides what pitch rate to give when the stick is pulled back.![]()
Reason for prayer
They were saved for their efforts.effective way to make people think they could die.

Apparently I made a bad joke.

What if their prayers is what got them on the ground safely!? You can't prove it didn't[emoji39]My understanding is that they shut it down but the engine was either a) windmilling or b) had structural damage outside the core that was vibrating in the airflow.
The part that I did find interesting is that the captain asked the passengers to pray. Twice.
