Yet, the airlines are apparently the "Bad Hombres"

It starts in primary schools and is enforced at home. They are the closest thing to the Borg on this planet.

I remember before the merger flying NW Airlink from YYZ to MSP we'd have a group of ~30 Japanese tourists and 1 leader/chaperone who spoke English while the rest didn't. In MSP when they got off, every single one did the slight head bow thing, which IMO is a really nice form or respect and gratitude.

Compared to two days ago after we landed in LAX, and one pax commented when getting off (in the most natural/normal/serious tone): "thanks for not killin us."

I love the whole bowing thing.

It's not uncommon while walking in Japan to find a car blocking your sidewalk while waiting to merge into traffic. More times than not they'll put their car in reverse to allow you to continue unimpeded. Bowing to a certain degree can be anything from a fist bump to a hand shake of gratitude without having to get near the person.

And don't get me started on the bow that the ground crew does as we taxi off in Japan. If you see their work ethic you can tell it's not just something they're told to do but rather a reflection of pride in doing good work.

I'm moving onto a new gig and thus handed the reigns over for the Lead PIC position to the new guy. All the Docs, websites, logins etc on a thumb drive. He actually looked me in the eye and asked "Do I really need to go through all this?"

Remember when Obama bowed like this a few years back and Republican's had a heartburn. There is huge moral decay in our society and we are not attacking it headon.

Had an almost identical experience checking out a newly hired factory instructor pilot that I'm pretty sure was never interviewed by a factory instructor pilot...Gave a 182 or 206 POH to her and she asked how much of it she had to read. Me, trying not to facepalm: "Uhh, all of it?" As a millennial, I hate millennials.
