Great Job Delta!

Love it!

The inaugural flight landed about 4 p.m., but the problem was that Hartsfield-Jackson International has only two gates modified to handle the A380. Both were being used by Delta Air Lines, which said it couldn’t rearrange things in time to make way.

So the Qatar plane was assigned to a “hardstand,” where passengers get off via mobile stairs and are bused to the terminal. The plane was then to be moved to the South cargo terminal for a welcoming event, then back to the hardstand to pick up passengers for the return to Doha.

I think if Delta had a mother, it would be getting a stern talking to about how it isn't nice not to share. At some point, even they have to grow up and stop acting like a spoiled child.

Good job!

If they were being spoiled brats, it'd be "Hey… 1473… we want you do land and do a slow roll to the last taxiway before exiting, there'll be a little something extra in your next check." :)

Delta paid several billion dollars to have terminal F built and actually owns those gates. They apparently told the airport and Qatar to go pound sand when they were asked to surrender the gate so Qatar could park there. Now, I'm sure there's a price that Delta would accept to allow the use of the gate, but it may be too high for Qatar to pay.

As stated, have you seen some of the things the Qatar Chief has said?

Despite what you say, great move by Delta.

They have both been jerks to each other, and in all fairness, Delta did start it. But, in the style of Trump, they are both being immature and need to grow up. I am still mad at Delta for pulling their sponsorship of the Fox theatre all because Qatar had their party there for the launch. It is one thing for Delta to take a stand, but when they start trying to tell everyone how to run their business, I have a problem with it as much as I do love Delta.

Shocked they weren't denied boarding.

Why would they have been denied boarding? Delta has no problem taking money, they just don't like when others take what they believe is their money. On that point, why doesn't Delta have an A380 of their own? ;)

Are you even a pilot? Or here posting on behalf of someone else? The rise of the ME3 is some serious stuff for those that actually have skin in the game. If your view on this is effected because of a theater sponsorship then why don't you sit this conversation out.

Business is called "business" for a reason. It isn't "friendship".

So, now the conversation goes a completely different direction because I don't agree with you? You seem to be quite the grumpy one on this board and quick to stir the pot and start throwing insults. I addressed the issue, and didn't get off-topic at all. You did. They both need to act like grown-ups and if they are going to box each other out, get more creative because it was so obvious that move was absolutely planned.

Would you have that same attitude if it involved losing your job? Business is business, but when you start strong arming people to get your way, for one party, that crosses a line. No matter who you are.
