Seattle, yesterday evening:

No, this looks like sunny LA to me. I'll show some real Seattle pictures tomorrow.

Geocache?
More or less. Was given a sheet of lat/longs had to find a place to land and then hike over to where they were. The person that came back with the most weight in painted rocks won. Everything was between Talkeetna and the Kahiltna Glacier, west a bit of Peter's Creek. Mostly up and down the Little Su and the Kahiltna River.

Man. That looks like fun. While I don't want to live in Alaska, I can definitely appreciate the advantages of the terrain and low population density.

Old school...

Phoenix FIre Department crew of Crash/Rescue 19 (Phoenix Sky Harbor airport ARFF/CFR), arriving at the scene of fuel tank-farm fire on 51st Ave/VanBuren, 10 miles west of rhe airport, to relieve the crew of Engine 34. Crash 19 crews in proximity gear/silvers, better equipped to deal with the extreme radiant heat of the large petroleum fuel fire. 1979

Randomly started getting a "NOT RECOGNIZED" from the camera for this lens. I suspected there was a problem with the drive/motor because it wasn't moving when I powered it on. Out of warranty, so repairs were looking like $150 minimum. New lens is about $300. So I grabbed a screw driver and started taking it apart. Through dumb luck or brute force, I managed to get the telescope action freed up. Put it all back together again and it's working.

Kind of annoying that it freaked out at such a young age. I think I've had it about a year and a half now. I guess being new to the interchangeable lens game and having a motorized drive makes Sony stuff a little unreliable right now. Hopefully things will improve in the future.

Still I've been pretty happy with it and I'm willing to stick to the mirrorless game if it remains viable in the future. I think the concept has value.

It seems like Nikon hasn't fully committed to it yet and Canon hasn't even bothered.
