Most junior NYC MD88 captain...

Granted, it's for the 190.

Only if we could get legacies to do all the flying!

we aren't very far removed when upgrade times at major airlines was anywhere from 15-years+++.
Time to upgrade one year ago was 15 years. Keep in mind though that there was no hiring between mid 01 and 07 and then only about 200 07-08, and then no hiring until 10-11, or so.

It's not necessarily always a good thing to upgrade that fast. You're going to be junior for a long time and ain't nothing worth flying junior captain out of NYC. I had decent seniority there as 320 captain and it was miserable. Miiiiiiiiiiserable. Which is why it stays junior.

If you live there, perfect! If you're a commuter, welcome to "The Suck" my friend!

Would it be as bad if you lived in base?

I'm with you. I like the ability to smell pine trees, but 8 million other folks think otherwise.

I sat on my balcony for 20 mins today watching the parade of birds to our bird feeder hearing nothing but their chirps, the wind, and the occasional arrival into IAD.

I've actually been trying to catch a shot of this woodpecker that's been hanging around lately, eating out of our feeder. Until about a week ago, this winter has been pretty warm. All the squirrels and birds are pretty fat. The woodpecker is about as wide as he is tall, but he's really shy. This is the best shot I was able to grab of him, but it was from inside through a dirty window.

Looks like you need that 2nd year pay to kick in tomorrow so you can start building your own rally WRX from scratch.... I mean snapping photos of birds is cool but building a wicked WRX is... Well... Cooler.

I just put $1300 into that thing with a new turbo back exhaust and clutch. Definitely plan to make it a little more fun when I can afford it.

"I got Chris'muss awf, weekends awf, I can't afford to go to mainline, LOL. I'll just wait until they acquire us because of the shortage and give us DOH. Like muh epaulet sweater?"

Jokes aside it is scary the number of people I've run into that believe something to this effect.... SKW is a good company to work for but I just don't see the justification sometimes.
